Water 101

Water Purity

Our water is derived from our natural Artesian aquifer which contains naturally occurring minerals. Our Artesian water has a PH (probable hydrogen) level of 8.5-9 indicating it is non acidic. Our water is high in alkaline due to the natural mineral contents found in the water. PH neutral is 7, if the PH level is below 7, it would be considered acidic. Our water is bottled at the source, eliminating the risk of potential contamination that can occur during bulk transport of the water.

Water from our protected source is monitored constantly to detect any changes in the microbiological, chemical or physical characteristics of the water to insure that the initial purity remains unchanged. Our water exceeds all of the United States Food and Drug Administration standards for bottled water. We have been issued licenses by the state of Colorado to bottle our water, based on the results of independent laboratory analysis of over 100 organic and nonorganic constituents, and certify our source as Artesian. We were the first bottled water company in the states of Colorado and Nebraska to be certified SQF 200 level 3 (highest level) with an audit rating of excellent.

Artesian Water

Artesian water comes from a natural underground aquifer that is forced by underground pressure to rise toward the surface in a well that penetrates the aquifer which is a layer of very porous rock or sediment, usually sandstone, capable of holding and transmitting large quantities of water. Water from an Artesian aquifer is free of contaminants, full of healthy minerals such as calcium, magnesium and fluoride and it tastes exceptional. Per the Food and Drug Administraion (FDA), water derived from an Artesian aquifer is often more pure because of the confining layers of clay and or rock which provide a protective barrier, leaving the water free from contamination.

Drinking (purified) Water

Don’t be misled about what you may hear in the media about bottled water. Again, we’re not all the same. Purified water can be municipal “tap” water that is treated to remove particles or “impurities” making it suitable for drinking.  However, some purification processes can’t remove all contaminants such as bacteria, pesticides and pharmaceuticals.

This is what differentiates us from the rest.

Our drinking water is derived from the same natural Artesian aquifer.  We provide drinking water as a choice for those who want a less degree of natural mineral content in their bottled water.  We purify our natural water through reverse osmosis, which is a treatment process that removes inonized salts, very fine solid particles and organic molecules from water by using pressure to force the water molecules through a semi permeable membrane.  We then use ozonation, which is a chemical-free means of sterilization that leaves no color, after-taste or odor.  The end result is nature’s purest water with less mineral content.

Distilled Water

Distillation is an effective process for producing water with a distinct clarity, up to 98% free of all mineral content.  Many hospitals and pharmaceuticals use distilled water due to this fact.  It is also commonly used in steam irons, photography development, batteries and humidifiers.

To make distilled water, we heat our Artesian water from our protected source to a high enough temperature, converting it to a vapor, which is then cooled, condensing it back into a liquid form.

The distilling process relies on the principle that most solid materials found in water are heavier than the water molecules themselves. When water is heated in a distiller, any dissolved remain solid while the pure water converts to a much lighter steam and is drawn out for condensation. Distilled water has a noticeably bland taste because all of the minerals which give water its flavor have been removed.
