Artesian Water
Artesian well water is derived from a natural underground aquifer that is forced by underground pressure to rise toward the surface in a well that penetrates the aquifer. Deep Rock’s 852-foot deep protected artesian well is not chlorinated, and chlorine is never used in the bottling process. To assure consumers that our water is microbiologically safe (free of bacteria) Deep Rock uses ozone. Ozonation is a chemical-free process of sterilization that leaves no color, after-taste or odor. Deep Rock’s bottling process does not change the composition of minerals that nature has provided by either adding anything to it or deleting anything from our natural artesian source water. Nor do we ever add carbonation or flavors. For these reasons, we meet requirements for labeling our artesian water “natural”.
Deep Rock Water Company recently became the first bottled water company in the state of Colorado to receive Safe, Quality Food (SQF) certification from the public health and safety company, NSF International. The SQF Program is one of the world’s leading food and safety management systems, designed to meet the needs of retailers and suppliers worldwide and is a division of the Food Marketing Group (FMI). The Program provides independent certification that a supplier’s food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations. This enables us to assure customers’ that our water has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards, at all levels of the supply chain.
